OrangeCat.info Shut Down

August 16th, 2010 Bob View Comments

The OrangeCat Client Information site at OrangeCat.info is being shut down as of today. It has served it’s purpose since we first posted to it on January 8, 2007.

Lately, posts have been few and a far between and we feel our clients would be better served via email when the occasion arises.

There is some material on the OrangeCat.info site that will be updated and re-published, most likely on OrangeCat.net.

The OrangeCat.info domain will be redirected to OrangeCat.net.

Make Money Blogging

February 25th, 2010 Bob View Comments

Even though the title of this ebook is “Make Money Blogging”, any beginning blogger should read it whether they want to make money with their blog or not.

Daniel Scocco of Daily Blogging Tips has put together a tremendous resource for beginning (and I’d say up to intermediate level) bloggers. He shares tips and strategies to help your blog reach it’s potential in quality and attract readers.

He covers everything from “what software should I use?” to “killer articles” vs. “normal posts”, and than gets around to that “making money” part.

Here is some of the things covered:

  • The three mistakes that bloggers make when choosing a niche.
  • The three characteristics of good content.
  • Why your content strategy should have one cornerstone.
  • The two factors that create magnetic headlines (and how to apply them).
  • A deadly mistake that bloggers make when designing their blogs.
  • Practical tips that you can use to network efficiently.
  • A promotional strategy that most people forget to use.
  • The two requirements for making money with Google AdSense.
  • The best trick available to make money with CPM deals.

This ebook is filled with no-nonsense advice for anyone starting out in blogging or just thinking about it.

I’m a regular reader of Daily Blog Tips for the wealth of information it provides. In “Make Money Blogging”, Daniel has assembled a great deal of his hard-earned knowledge in one place. And the best part is – the ebook is free.

Important – Make your Facebook name more memorable

June 13th, 2009 Bob View Comments

Facebook logoAt 12:01am today, Facebook began letting you select your own username. That means that you can now have your own name on Facebook like this:

http://www.Facebook.com/bobstovall

instead of those cryptic, long default Facebook URLs.

This makes it much easier for friends to find your Facebook page and is easier to remember for those you give it to.

Now, as you probably realize, many people have the same name on Facebook. And I’ve always recommended grabbing your own name as a domain name. I am just as enthusiastic about grabbing your own name on Facebook.

So if you want your name, you should go get it now.

Here’s how:

Log into Facebook, or click the link below and then login.

Then go to http://www.Facebook.com/username

Once you are there, it will suggest a variety of names. That doesn’t mean they are the only ones available, so click on the ‘more’ link and it will let you
select a different name. For example I picked bobstovall instead
of bob.stovall or bstovall, but you can pick any variation that’s available. There is a button to check availability of the name you choose.

Don’t hesitate of you could miss getting your own name. Go to:
http://www.Facebook.com/username
now and get your own name while you can.

Washington Post logoSometime on Tuesday, more than 15,000 Web sites connected to San Jose, Calif., based Triple Fiber Network (3FN.net) went dark. 3FN’s sites were disconnected after a Northern California district court judge approved an FTC request to have the company’s upstream Internet providers stop routing traffic for the provider.

Bob’s NOTE: If you’ve noticed a little less “spam” in your Inbox the past few days, this is why.
