Mike Stewart Was Great!
If you missed last night’s BigSeminar training call with Armand Morin interviewing Mike Stewart, you really missed something. Mike is also known as the Internet Audio Guy. Lately, he has been focusing on blogs as a promotional outlet and has greatly improved blog effectiveness through his use of audio and video in his blog posts.
Mike is a former television and radio producer who has watched the Internet grow from a text-only world to a multi-media powerhouse. With 70% of Americans and Canadians having access to a broadband connection, the ability to use the technologies collectively labeled “Web 2.0″ to interact within niche communities is without limit.
And in honor of Mike’s enthusiasm for audio and video blogging, I’ve recorded a short audio of this post and posted it using PodPress to give you an idea of what he was talking about. Of course, he was also talking about video in blogs, but that will have to be a subject for another day.
Using a blog to publish audio (called a podcast) or video is certainly the wave of the future. The ability of a blog to communicate effectively in any niche makes it the best choice for building relationships on the Net – and you know how I love to emphasize the relationship building opportunities of Web 2.0.
In case you’ve been living in a cave somewhere, I’m going to remind you that this is the year of video on the Net. YouTube has been around for a few years now and Google just paid 1.6 BILLION to buy it out. When Google parts with $1.6B, sit up and take notice! The rest of the world sure does!
Don’t watch TV??? WHAT ARE YOU THINKING??? The viewers may be spreading out from the networks to cable AND THE INTERNET, but the production principles and art of persuasion are the same. If you want to communicate with your customers of the future, you gotta know this stuff!
